Published on January 10, 2018 by

Like all the surgical procedures there are always risks associated with surgery. However complications are uncommon even in complex forehead surgery. Bruising around the eyes may occur and may take two weeks to resolve while major bleeding is rare less than .1% infection is rare less than .5% and will require appropriate antibiotics. Facial muscle weakness is uncommon but may affect the forehead temporarily lasting 6 to 8 weeks. Bulging of the frontal sinus forehead is rare and may require revision surgery. Abnormal scarring hypertrophic or keloid or strep scars are on common. Reduced sensation of the scalp is expected and improves from 9 to 12 months following surgery.
